TrainingBreeding for good behavior also means breeding dogs that are easy to train. Forget the rigorous training programs recommended by most books—train these labs when you have time. Use any book you like—our dogs are for guys that don't like to read the directions. Although professional training can be helpful, our dogs do best when trained by their owners. For hunters we recommend Water Dog by Richard A. Wolters. For a family we recommend Family Dog by the same author. Both emphasize a practical, common sense do it yourself approach.
